The government of Ontario honoured 15 special individuals with the Ontario Medal of Good Citizenship in June. Among the recipients of this honour was "Jock" Cunningham (pictured between Lieutenant Governor Hilary Weston and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation, Derwyn Shea).
Even among the recipients of one of Ontario's most prestigious awards, Jock's lifetime of outstanding voluntary contributions set him apart as a shining star. His good deeds in helping all aspects of our community, ranging from youth to seniors, spans literally thousands of hours. Jock distinguishes our community as one in which people care for and help one another. Jock exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism in our community. Provincial recognition of this exceptional man is yet another reason for our community to be proud.
